Here, Here!

Saturday's pizza party was the highlight of the season for the Kickin' Kinkades. Even if we'd won every game, the pizza buffet would still have been the season's best moment. The way we all shared breadsticks and pools of dipping sauce, that Kinkades, is what teamwork is all about.

Thanks to everyone!

Our final half-time (and loss) of the season. Who hoo!

Because everyone was so excited to eat pizza at 11 a.m., our last game was the best attended.

Jon had a spectacular game and season. Don't worry! His wife works at P & G and probably gets free Tide!

The losing season, the missed goals, the pain, the agony... All of it melted like extra cheese on a Pizza Hut pan pizza.

Extra thanks to Shana, who donated a bucket o' fun for team awards. Everyone got an award! Including Chase, our #1 most loyal fan who doggedly waited on the sidelines most games and who cheered and cried with us.

Well, Damn

We lost again, but Cameron (game MVP) scored two goals. Hooray!

Final: 4-2.

Everyone played really, really awesome. Unfortunately, our really, really awesome doesn't always win games.

While snacking on a granola bar on the side, I got a glimpse of our opponent next week, the Weasal Cats, and I don't mean to alarm anyone, but I swear they have at least one, perhaps four, Olympic spinters on their team. So get ready for that.

Between now and next Saturday at 9 a.m., we all have to improve our speed.

But no matter what happens during the last game, PIZZA PARTY afterwards! Ow, ow!

Everyone's permission slips are due to me by the game time, so please have your mom, dad, guardian, cat or boss sign them.

We also will have team awards during the pizza party. (i.e. Hottest brothers on the team award goes to LeShaun and Cameron. Hottest mom and team supergirl goes to Shana. Etc. You get the idea. Start thinking!)

So freaking close!

The Kinkades had another rough game last week, but if anything we hit our turning point.

First off, we played the Ligers again. This was a team that smacked us around last season, so no one was really expecting us to win. Secondly, we lost, but it was only 1-0, easily the best loss of the year. Better yet, their goal was something that just barely squeaked by, so we might as well call this one a tie game.

All right, enough rally talk! On with the highlights:

Controversy strikes early! In the first half, Pat went up for a header and accidentally bumped into a female member of their team. It looked rough, but pretty typical for the soccer field. In fact, this would have been a pretty normal incident, except...

...for this guy, who kinda freaked out. There are various interpretations as to what he actually said, but I thought this had the best dramatic effect.
Huge props to our subs this week, Jen (BigBri's girlfriend who did an awesome job on D), Meggan (tireless midfielder who took a hit from their goalie AND used the wing to its maximum potential), Melissa (Shana's sister, who ran a 5k before playing a full game with us!) and LeShaun's new recruit Jamie (pictured above). That crude drawing is no exaggeration -- there was no limit to Jamie's skills with the soccer ball -- let's hope he comes back!

And Jon's work in the net this week was huge and a big reason why we kept it close until the end. Here, late in the game, he pounces on a ball that was just inches away from goal.

Anyway, great job to everyone! There was a lot of promise in this game, so lets keep it up against the Cincy Blues next week!

a cougar

This is a cougar and it is mean. It wants to kill everything. DO NOT PET THIS COUGAR!
it is not a petting cougar.

also. The cougar wants to know where this popped-collar ref lives. No reason, it just want to visit him. It won't hurt the ref, but it may eat his face. Who can honestly say if that would "hurt?"

i'm going to bed.

Go KK’s!

Well, We Didn't Lose

Unbeknowest to us going in, the Soccer Stars forfeit every game, so when they scored without a girl-touch and on an off-sides, we just thought the Popped Collar was being nice - and unfair.

Turns out we were gonna win no matter what happened. But it's a hollow victory, considering we scored only once. (Goooo Shana!)

I got jacked up on a power kick by The Gazelle from the other team. I didn't even know what hit me. I just remember landing on my wrist, then my elbow, then my back. I thought about laying there and crying for a while it hurt so bad. But it left an awesome welt on my leg and will likely produce a pretty sweet bruise in a few days.

This Saturday's Game Brought To You By Shana

In addition to scoring our only goal (on a goal kick, which was awesome) Shana also layed the smack down on some chick who tripped her. You don't wanna step to Shana.

Sadly, we lost again. The new league is killing us. But for being ditched by our subs (you bastards!) and missing several players, we fought valiantly against the SunRayz. At least until we all got tired.

Do not step to The Shana.

A Sunrayz thought it would be a good idea to go up against Brian. Big mistake. As you can see, Brian walked away just fiiine. The other kid, not so much.

The best photo ever to come from a Kickin' Kinkades game. Click on it to get the full effect. Hilarious!

Fowards LeShaun, Cameron and Shana brought the pain.

This jackass is beyond words. In addition to not actually watching the game or knowing what the calls are when he calls them, he also makes sure that his collar is popped as he's "reffing." I swear he was actually posing, though I'm not sure for whom. He's a legend in his own mind. (Like Vincent from Project Runway.)

Our two fans, Necessary and Sam, busted out the rally hat. Unfortunately, it didn't help. But they are excellent sideline cheerleaders.

Game over!

THE AFTERMATH

Check out these seams marks on Paul. Yeeouch!

Avacado Ass-Kickin'

Though not on our part, sadly.

The Guac's beat us, like, 100 to 0. Or maybe it was 6-0. Or something like that.

But hey, we got some fun photos. And stay tuned for video "highlights."

The Goalkeeps Brian and Brian kept it real. Fo' real. Here's Big Bri takin' a break.

Coach Ronson sweated it out on the sidelines.

Halftime!

I sho' am hungry. How much for a banana?

There's a lot going on in this photo. Jen is walking Kevin's dog. Brian is examining his foot. And Cameron's son is reading a book.

That's right. Stretch it out.
